Dear Fellow Star-Gazers,
Happy Full Moon!
FINANCIAL PANIC?
You may remember that I was concerned that the first
quarter of 2025 would witness financial panic as Neptune and the lunar node conjoin. (They last did so in Pisces in late 1857 coinciding with a financial panic that lasted more than a year).
Even leaving aside the upcoming trade wars as indicated in the chart for the inauguration of the next US President, there are other cosmic factors suggesting market mayhem.
Of considerable concern is the lunar eclipse on March 14th. This event accents degrees of the zodiac featured in the charts of many of the world’s major computer companies. If your technical analysis agrees, then this is a date to watch for possible large falls. More on this in my monthly class event (link below)
GOLD & SILVER
In the early hours of Wednesday 15th January, Mercury reaches extreme south declination: its exact position when the gold futures market opened on the last day of 1974. In this chart, Neptune and the Lunar Node conjoined in Sagittarius. Research suggests that when this alignment repeats, then gold reaches a significant level.
It has been the norm for investors to move into precious
metals as financial storm clouds gather and much to suggest that gold and silver prices will increase this month. Both tend to gain when the Moon passes through Pisces – which it does on January 31st. This transit coincides with Uranus reaching its direct station: strengthening the argument for both to reach turning points.

MARKETS
Already there are
indicators that all is far from well in the financial world. That was the case even before the Los Angeles catastrophe whose impact will surely be considerable. Both Jupiter and Uranus reach extreme declination in the last days of January indicating unusual volatility. Given what I think might happen with gold, I can only conclude that western markets especially will be in negative territory.
CRYPTOS
Institutional investors who shied from the crypto market have been moving into this area. With the President elect indicating his interest and support for cryptos, the coming weeks should see strong movement in these prices. The focus of my January Monthly event (regitsration link below) is on crypto including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Cardano, Solana, Doge, Monero and two others that may be unfamiliar as yet, but where the cosmic indicators are
encouraging.
WARS and DISEASE
Whilst the California fires dominate the news cycle, wars continue. Present global conflict is signalled astrologically by the dominant angle between Pluto and Haumea (there is more of course) which will still be in play when Saturn, Chiron and Pluto reach key phases in 2028.
The world was unprepared for Covid 19, and perhaps unnecessary for that to be the case. In researching pandemics since the 14th Century, the frequent coincidence of wide-spread disease and alignments involving these planets cannot be ignored.
The boundaries of the Gaza Strip were demarcated in the Egyptian-Israeli armistice agreement of February 24, 1949. Mars
reaches its direct station on February 24th 2025 which could yet prove a critical date.
Given the displacement of so many of its peoples and the lack of resources and support available to them, the potential for infectious diseases to get out of control – and then to spread – is worrying. History may yet show the routes of another pandemic to lie in this region.
LOS ANGELES
Of the 321 horoscopes offered in Marc Penfield’s Horoscopes of Cities, only 8 have IC positions in Aquarius and only one – Los Angeles – has an IC position of 1 Aquarius: the degree reached by Pluto on January 7th as fires began to rage. (Forecasters might like to note that New York City has an IC of 17 Aquarius which Pluto will cross in
2033).
Mars, Uranus and Pluto were all ‘out of bounds’ in the incorporation chart for LA i.e. All three planets were travelling beyond the limits reached by the Sun relative to the celestial equator.
Los Angeles IS different. It does things differently. It is an amalgam (Sun in Virgo) of many different cultures, living life on the edge
(earthquakes could happen at any time) yet thriving on dreams (Venus conjunct Neptune in the 12 House of film and media).
A standard forecasting technique works on the principle of each day after an event (birth or inauguration) describing a year of life. Using this system, both Uranus (now 0 Cancer) and Saturn (now 0 Capricorn) have reached the World Axis. The world has watched terrifying, apocalyptic scenes of
destruction.
FEBRUARY 2026
Saturn and Neptune align at the World Axis in February 2026 though both planets cross the boundary between Pisces and Aries some months earlier. The combination suggests major shifts of thought that test present social, economic and political systems. We should expect the collapse of systems and weakened leadership. The
transition won’t be easy. It may be that we witness the collapse of old empires and the emergence of new ones.
Given the cosmic trends, giving thought to our legacy and the footprint we leave on this extraordinary planet will surely be priority for many. Certainly, every client that I have spoken to in the last few weeks has this near the top of their agenda.
