Dear Fellow Star-Gazers,
Happy Full Moon.
It’s been quite a month on the world stage and in my office!
Once again, thanks to those who alerted me to website issues. The site is down and recovery
not possible. (The Ukranian developers have other priorities). Focus is on the new site – no launch date yet available yet.
For now, please email office@cityscopes to enrol on the August Monthly class, purchase the Introduction to Financial Astrology or for information about the 6-Module Financial Astrology Course.
WORLDS IN TURMOIL:
There are at least two solar eclipses in any year – sometimes as many as five. These cosmic events fascinated the ancients and gave power to those who could predict their timing.
History may yet show that the events of mid-July 2024 are linked to the Solar eclipse on October 2nd. Consider: the near assassination of Donald Trump, the
political chaos that followed the elections in France, the new government in the UK, Israeli pressure in Gaza, China halting potential deals with the US as tension regarding Taiwan increase…………..the list goes on.
These events coincided with the lunar node crossing the zodiac degree of the forthcoming eclipse. Incidentally, that degree was highlighted at the attempted assignation of Teddy Roosevelt in October 1912: a
degree that will be activated gain in September.
Also noteworthy: Neptune’s position at 29 degrees and 55 minutes Pisces at the recent assignation attempt. Neptune last occupied this degree at the start of the American Civil War. As viewed from Earth, Neptune will pass this position again in 2025.
The charts now warranting our attention are not
those of Mr Trump or President Biden but those of their chosen running mates. We now have the chart of J.D. Vance whose chart – unsurprisingly - neatly dovetails with Mr Trump’s.
As those of you who attended my June monthly event know, I had anxiety about the chart for the Republican Convention that indicated unexpected activity and high-level tension.
For different reasons, the chart for the Democrat convention opening on August 19th (a Full Moon!!) indicates crisis and financial drama - both within that political party but also likely on the world stage and in global markets.
(Daily analysis of the next month in President Biden’s chart indicates strong political activity on July 24th and August 13th with the entire period dominated by legal
issues).
Away from politics, mid-August brings strong declination activity which may be indicative of severe weather conditions: perhaps even a ‘Hurricane Sandy’ type event.
But arguably THE key date is September 1st when Uranus arrives at its station. This planet has a reputation for
bringing the unexpected and is unlikely disappoint. Events might even be enough to require a rethink of the planned November US presidential election. With the October eclipse aligned exactly with asteroid Astrea, legal matters could yet dominate.
GLOBAL MARKETS
Investors – always on the look out for buying opportunities, should find the
volatility of the next few weeks testing.
The September Lunar Eclipse in Pisces (Mutable) aligns with Neptune (the planet associated with loss). You may remember that another September Full Moon coincided with the collapse of Lehman Brothers and anniversaries often bring echoes.
It is worth noting that the actual degrees of the zodiac involved link
this eclipse to some of the major tech companies (Microsoft, dell computers etc). Activity in this sector could bring down many indices.
PRECIOUS METALS
Both silver and gold prices have been in general upward trajectory since the horrendous events in Israel in October 2023. Fear often sees these prices rise. They appear to have peaked at the
Mars-Uranus conjunction last Monday.
The natural question is to wonder how far they might fall and when – and if – they will recover.
Research suggests that silver will fall further but turn mid-December before recovering to present levels next year.
Gold
responds differently but should history repeat, after a decline, it too should move upward but perhaps from late November. (Detailed info in the monthly events)
CRYPTO
Regulation was always likely to be a dominating theme until 2032 (by which time this industry should be more stable).
On May 22, the House of Representatives passed the Financial Innovation and Technology for the 21st Century Act, (Crypto FIT21): legislation which aims to provide clear regulations for the cryptocurrency industry.
The planetary geometry that day appears promising with Venus and Jupiter conjoined. However, political ramifications and lack of global regulation should see this tested in the
second quarter of 2025.
(Note that my research suggests November 2025 will be a high for Bitcoin).
SPACE, STORMS AND OUTAGES
Early on Friday morning, Crowdstrike (unfortunate name) deployed an upgrade that led to the freezing of many computer systems. The vulnerability of systems was laid bare – which may
be a good thing in that attention will surely now be given to back-up systems.
Though malfunctions were due to human error (bad and curious timing for this deployment as generally developers don’t make these moves on a Friday), the knock on effect draws attention to the fragility of systems.
Should a solar storm affect the growing number of
satellites on which we rely, the effects could be devastating. We now know that over 5,000 (yes, five thousand) satellites had to be moved from their orbits in May when their functionality was threatened by a magnetic storm.
All this piques my interest in cyber security and companies specialising in the management of space debris and waste. My research continues.
Presently priority has to
be on the new website as well as preparing for the AA conference in late August where I will talk about Space and give a workshop on financial wellbeing through understanding Moon, Mercury, Vesta and Hygeia positions.
The next event is for the Mayo School in October followed by a North American adventure that takes me back to Toronto for the first time in six years (a promise to Michael) and concludes after visits to
Philadelphia, Boston and New York that includes a zoom workshop for the Kentucky Astrological Society!
Until next time
Yours from the stars
Christeen
