Dear Fellow Star-Gazers,

Happy Strawberry Full Moon and Happy belated Solstice!

The latter was particuarly special in that the Moon is reaching maximum South declination - turning points in many theatres should be reached.

The coming three months promise a wild ride as Jupiter moves to form its first quarter phase with Saturn of this new Aquarius cycle (exact at the August Full Moon). This important stage in the business cycle has been known to coincide with strong market movement. As both are now moving through Mutable signs (where it could be argued that people (traders!)  won't know which way to turn), and that a resulting trend to the downside is more likely than not.

Echoes of the April Solar eclipse which you may remember was at the exact same degree (to the minute) as Chiron (the corrector) may be heard on July 11th- a trigger point that is followed by Mars conjoining Uranus at the degree of the Fixed star Algol: factors that underline the possibility of pressure, disaster and catastrophe that make global headlines.

We know that political pressures are mounting: the chart for the Treaty of Rome - which set the scene for today's European Union is under particular pressure with French politics dominating the news. The shock waves from the outcome of the French election - and that of the UK, should be considerable and a major factor in the expected downturn.

Earlier this month I gave a webinar on the Astrology of Latin America. Although I covered only 12 of the 21 countries of that geographical area, it rapidly became clear that developments in that region will have major social and economic impact in the next 18 months.

 With tensions in the Middle East, Russia and Ukraine, Taiwan and China all rising, it is perhaps all too easy to ignore South America. I understand that my talk will be available on the NCGR Youtube channel but am awaiting that announcement. Let me know if you would like me to send you a copy directly.

Much as I would like to visit the sacred sites of South America, the cosmos dictated a trip north  - to Norway - and a demand to look closely at the future of oil and solar power.

On Wednesday , and as Mars crossed 28 Taurus, I visited a Viking museum  and walked around burial mounds. I was struck by the fact that the Viking Age is said to have begun around 900 AD. I thought that I remembered correctly, and later research confirmed that just five years later, Neptune and Pluto conjoined at 28 Taurus. Norway's National Day is May 17th placing the Sun at 26 Taurus - so close as to suggest that those Viking roots are still strongly at work.

Perhaps it is not surprising that OSEAX, the Norwegian index, is dominated by oil stocks (Neptune and Pluto both play key roles) and perhaps no surprise to see that as Jupiter acrossed the last degrees of Taurus in recent weeks, that OSEAX reached an all time high. Presently it is holding there and could reach another peak mid July at the aforementioned Mars-Uranus conjunction. 

After that and with the  Mars-Uranus alignment conjoining with Algol, a sharp fall is probable - perhaps, but hopefully not, related to an oil spill or related disaster.

With or without an event, the long-term outlook for oil sees its dominance of the energy markets waning. By the time that Pluto reaches 8 Aquarius (Pluto was at 8 Taurus when the first barrel of oil was collected) before the end of this decade, it should be clear that the dominance of oil will have faded.
Of the many cycles that affect this commodity, correlation between the cycles of Saturn, Neptune and Pluto  is obvious. Saturn and Neptune conjoin in February 2026 which should mark a major turning point.

SOLAR STOCKS
My attention is turning to other investments and, in particular, solar power and ocean clean-up. There are exciting developments here in Norway. I await clarification of data and hope that I have identified three companies showing astro-promise. I will present these charts in the next monthly event on July 14th. MICHAEL

The Royal College of Music in London is dedicating their Percussion concert on July 1st to Michael - a wonderful tribute that I am sure he would NOT have approved of! He would not have enjoyed this attention. I hope that this event where money will be raised for the memorial fund in his name inaugurated by the Royal Society of Musicians will be a rewarding exercise and help others.
