Dear Fellow Star-Gazers

Happy Blue Full Moon!

I began my working life as a professional musician and it's not difficult for me to think of planetary arrangements in terms of musical sounds. Square aspects become heavy chords - the sound and frequency determined by the planets involved. 2021 has been dominated by the 90? angle between Saturn and Uranus: an aspect that concludes on December 24th. This aspect is relatively familiar since a hard aspect between the two occurs every decade. It's a hard chord, but usually indicative of modulation.

Far less frequent - and now drowning out the sound of Saturn-Uranus is the discord (square) between Pluto and Eris that is building to a crescendo (exact October 9^th).

When Jupiter moved into Pisces (mid-May to late July) most people were listening for hidden melody; hoping that restrictions would be lifted and that we would find some kind of happy ending after a time of struggle.

But Jupiter moved back into Aquarius and the volume of discordant sounds increased. Few of us wanted to 'hear' this; though many people on the ground in Afghanistan and elsewhere surely heard its compelling drum-beat and the approaching cacophony.

I was always anxious about the period August 12-16 when a formidable stellium in Virgo suggested growing dissonance. That was the weekend that the Taliban gained ground. Many people must now despair of hearing 'melody' ever again.

The chart for the Afghan republic has the Sun at 24 Cancer - affected now by Pluto in opposition to this degree (unseating of the President). Meanwhile the Saturn-Uranus square highlights the exact Moon-Jupiter conjunction in this chart (religious intransigence and division) and the lunar South Node moves toward Neptune (massive fraud and loss). If there is good news, it's that the planets move on, and regimes come and go.

WAR and ALLIANCE

Mercury, Venus and Mars cross the world axis at least once every year. Though Venus is painted as the goddess of love, this planet is often prominently placed at times of war. Venus was on this axis on August 16th as the USA and UK realised defeat in Afghanistan. Mercury (transport and communications) crosses this point on August 30th - which might be the date when Kabul airport closes. Mars reaches this position on September 15th.

From the heliocentric perspective, Venus reaches this axis on September 6th when it also conjoins Juno. This a 'marriage' pairing. I can't help but wonder if a deal will be struck on this date; to be announced as the alliance of a fighting force on September 15th.

A few days later, and coinciding with the next Full Moon on 20th, Jupiter arrives in Pisces (heliocentric perspective). Perhaps those melodies might yet drown out discord.

EQUITIES

So far, indices have, it seems, ignored the music of the spheres. In many cases they are dancing to a melody or sound frequency that seems, at times, inaudible to those of us now attuned to discordant sounds. We may see slight dips on August 31st and September 1st, but in the main these appear intent on their upward trajectory.

GOLD AND SILVER

That said, and given that those discordant sounds could yet be heard, this may be the time to consider building investment in gold and silver coins and in precious jewels. I am not sure that these should represent the greater proportion of a savings portfolio, but I certainly think they are important components. Prices may be optimum around 15 September as Mars arrives at the World Axis.

CRYPTOS

If indices are choosing not to respond to these planetary sounds, the world of crypto currency appears to be dancing to at least some of the sounds:

Ethereum's London Fork was launched on August 6th as the Sun moved to 90? angle with Uranus. It is interesting that a crypto story often coincides with aspects to this planet which has a reputation for rule breaking and for progress. The next key aspect takes place on September 7th which could see a surge in crypto prices.

What took place on Tuesday August 10th as Venus (money) moved to oppose Neptune (fraud), shocked the crypto world when the most extra-ordinary hack occurred. $612m was misappropriated - only to be returned a few days later when the hacker realised that he/she could be traced. The transaction began as Venus moved to contra-parallel Neptune and this was certainly a spectacular financial banana skin. To those who haven't been following the crypto story, this event would surely have added to the idea of cryptos as 'emperors without clothes'.

The story of Coinbase: arguably the largest crypto exchange suggests otherwise: in this recent quarter, the number of retailers accepting these currencies has increased by 8.8m with the number of verified users now at 68m and growing. Coinbase is now building its platform in Germany and in Japan. Cryptos are undoubtedly here to stay.

Just as I feel everyone should have some investment in gold etc, having a stake in cryptos seems a good idea too. This doesn't have to be Bitcoin. Indeed, it may be that other cryptos will offer better return - at least in the short term. I am still working on my crypto e-book and will let you know when that is ready.

MICHAEL

We have stumbled through another month. Once again, I am apprehensive of the Full Moon: concerned again that an infection is waiting in the wings. That said, a small emergency last night was dealt with competently by our experienced help - without whom no teaching, writing or consulting would take place! I need to take care not to manifest fears.
