Dear Fellow Star-Gazers,

Happy Full Moon!.....and Happy New Year!

Looking further ahead: between 2023 and 2025, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto each change sign: just as they did exactly 300 years ago. In that earlier time, between 1723 and 1725, and just a decade after the Age of Enlightenment was said to have begun, these same three slow moving planets made ingress. True, the zodiac signs involved are different. History never repeats exactly, but we might agree that we have indeed, as then, entered a new age. A great shift is taking place.

The 18^th century Age of Enlightenment took place against the backdrop of a series of Jupiter-Saturn conjunctions in Fire signs. These ‘lit up’ the imaginations of powerful thinkers. Just ten days ago, Jupiter and Saturn formed their first conjunction in an Air series that lasts for over two centuries. This is now the age of ideas and of reaching far beyond our selves: to the stars!  We don’t as yet know what our new ‘age’ will be called – but we can know that we have entered it and that certain sectors will grow as demand increases.

The political landscape especially is set to change dramatically – and not just in the United States. True, by the next Full Moon the USA Presidential inauguration ceremony will have taken place – and what a chart that is! Not only are many planets – and the Sun – grouped in Aquarius: a sign associated with freedom of thought and scientific development, but Mars and Uranus are EXACTLY aligned. This cycle has a justified reputation for sudden action – even explosion. In Taurus, this lends an image of charging bulls. US markets could surge but, at another level, we may see willful, physical aggression (in some areas of the world, the beat of war drums).

Neptune and asteroid Ceres (again in exact alignment) square the lunar nodes drawing attention to environmental issues (cleaning up the seas?). This might also be an astro-signature for spiritual awakening. Another option could be receipt of messages from outer space – or human kind sending them perhaps.

But what really intrigues me about this chart is the alignment of Sedna, Saturn, Vesta and Venus in the 19^th Harmonic. this harmonic seems to have resonance with artistic endeavour and 'speaking through the Arts'.  Perhaps it will mark a renaissance? 

TRADE and PROGRESS

Neptune’s alignment with Vesta (the trader’s asteroid) has been in effect for some weeks. The delicate negotiations of the Brexit deal (where fishing (!) has been a contentious issue) and the transition from one administration to another in the USA (where there is apparently confusion about who knows what) are near perfect expressions of this aspect at work. This aspect is exact in February and again at the beginning of July. Until it clears, ‘trading fog’ is probable.

Neptune has associations with media and theatre. Though no aspect on its own describes recent trading difficulties, the fact that these sectors have been hit so hard is significant. The good news is that ‘the curtain should rise’ again mid year.

PANDEMIC

As written about in earlier missives, until the contra-parallel aspect between Neptune and Chiron finally clears (mid February) and, perhaps the quintile between Pluto and Chiron in March, the pandemic is set to dominate the news. I hope however that by the Super-Moon on Aril 27^th, that we will slowly be returning to ‘normal’ life. Certainly by Jupiter’s Pisces ingress mid-May, travel should return to normal with theatres and cinemas re-opening from July.

EQUITIES, BITCOIN and IPOs

I was chided by a reader for not being more specific about stock market movements. This letter can only provide generalization. What seems likely is that markets will continue their upward climb as the year opens, but show volatility on Thursday January 14^th and turn negative (temporarily) on Friday January 22^nd.

Whilst trade in Bitcoin represents just a tiny fraction of trade, it has captured the imagination. The price rose as expected after the eclipse. This crypto though has a track record for soaring and falling. Though I would agree that it is headed toward $30,000, there are still likely to be buying moments. You may remember that I offered a Bitcoin webinar if there was sufficient interest. It is clear that there is and my plan is to record this in the last week of January. IPOs

I will be looking closely at the companies who come to market after the next New Moon. A few will launch under auspicious conditions in January: in particular IPOs launched between 4^th and 9^th, Friday 15^th and 26^th through 29th.

GOLD, PLATINUM, PALLADIUM

Gold has suffered in recent weeks but could make upward move week beginning January 11^th. I am also interested in palladium and platinum whose prices may rise from January 20^th. Nor should I omit copper whose price seems likely to increase further from January 7^th.

Yes, December hasn’t been easy. On the positive side, my husband is almost back to where we were this time last year (pre the tear to the aorta). The postural hypotension is a problem and, at times, nerve-wracking – especially so, since agency care has been intermittent due to London’s Tier 4 restrictions. On-line consultations have become the norm for me and somehow or other we are hanging on in there: buoyed by numerous well-wishes which really do make a difference. Thank you for being there.
