MARKETS
As you know, the cosmos doesn’t do exact repeats. Even so, it’s interesting that the last Taurus Uranus ingress in 1934 took place not many weeks after a lunar eclipse on January 30th 1934. That cycle repeated this year with the
Lunar Eclipse on January 31st. As we know, that date marked the start of a downward trend – just as it did in 1934. In fact, there are many similarities between that period and this.
There are several reasons to think that echoes of that lunar eclipse will be heard throughout the
year and entirely possible that there will be another downturn early in May. The halfway point between a solstice and Equinox is important. This coming midpoint should make clear the relevance of that date. At the very least volatility or instability seems more likely than not. If you are trading, do so with care – and preferably with the support of someone highly experienced.
URANUS IN TAURUS
Uranus arrives in Taurus in time for the New York Stock Exchange’s birthday on May 17th. Its arrival coincides with the Taurus New Moon and comes just a day ahead of Mars’
move into Aquarius. The net effect could see markets once again move sharply from that date. Then, before the next Full Moon, there is an aspect generally considered to be positive (Jupiter in trine to Neptune geocentrically) - but which on this occasion, could bring about exactly the opposite effect. One way or another, I believe that May will prove one of the more challenging trading months of 2018.
Taurus is, as you know, the sign of the ball. Uranus is associated with all that is metallic and technical: imagine a robotic, manic, militaristic bull charging through the china shop and which cannot be stopped until its batteries run out. We are, I think, in for some crazy times.
EARLY WARNING
Two Full Moons ahead, on Thursday June 28th, Mars stations close to the degree of the January 31st eclipse as the Sun opposes Saturn.
This is not a happy picture. Even if markets do not experience another negative trading day, then world leaders will likely be faced with serious challenges.
Mexico holds its presidential election just two days later on July 1st. The last days of campaigning will surely be
exhausting for all. So far it appears from the polls that Obrador is the front runner. It will be interesting to see if that situation changes mid May when the cosmic weather turns. A surprising turn of events is entirely possible. What is clear is that whoever takes on this role is likely to take the country is entirely fresh direction.
ECLIPSES
You may also be aware that there are two solar eclipses this summer. The first, on July 13 is at 20° Cancer opposing Pluto. As I wrote in my book “Exploring the Financial Universe”, this area of the zodiac has
featured whenever there has been significant market negativity. This doesn’t need to occur on the day itself and as I will explain in my talk at UAC in Chicago at the end of May, but does mark shifting sentiment.
Interesting then that President Trump is due to visit the UK that very day.
Will his visit be eclipsed by other events?
POLITICS
With Chiron’s move into
Aries, and Uranus Taurus ingress, together with accented degrees of the Fixed signs (associated with money and values) this was always going to be a year of shocks and surprises at every level. Few would have imagined detente between North and South Korea. Shocks and surprises of a more negative kind could yet occur however. Attention may now turn again to the Middle East – especially mid May. Whatever the rights and wrongs. this summer could prove extremely challenging - my fear being
that if I am correct that this could be the beginning of many weeks of suffering.
UAC in MAY
I will be speaking on the Astrology of Wealth and also the Effect of Eclipses in the Markets at the United astrology Congress in Chicago at the end of May. As part of the pre-conference program, I will be on the panel discussing the role of prediction and forecasting. I’m looking forward to connecting with people at that event. Please do seek me out. I would love to say hello and get some feedback about these letters. I’d also welcome the opportunity to
tell you about the upcoming Diamond Jubilee conference that the Astrological Association in Great Britain is holding in June and planned events taking place in Montréal and Toronto in July.
YOUR HELP
I would welcome your input on a newly launched site, www.star-horoscopes.com. This site offers daily, weekly, weekend, monthly and annual horoscopes but also features a selection of articles and ‘in
the news’ commentary. These are very early days. The plan is to expand to include celebrity charts and book reviews. Designed by a formidable team (a Leo and Pisces) at Naked Penguin Boy, I’d like this site to be easy but useful reading. Please let me know your thoughts.
THANKYOU
Lastly, a heartfelt thank you to the Oxford Group of Astrologers who made me feel so welcome at my one-day workshop there yesterday. Your thoughtful questions were brilliant!
Thanks too to the NCGR Taiwan group. My webinar for them was the first I had ever done with simultaneous translation. It was a challenging experience made easier by the warmth of their welcome. I am looking forward to meeting this team in Chicago next month.
For now,
With the advice to ‘fasten your safety belt’ ready for a bumpy ride ahead,
Yours from the stars
Christeen
