October 29th, 2012

Dear Fellow Star Gazers,

Happy Full Moon!

As I write, a major storm is headed toward the US East coast whilst the Earth has experienced a 7.7 magnitude earthquake off Canada's West Coast.  It seems this Full Moon has already had impact.

In two weeks' time, there is a solar eclipse (November 13th), visible across Australasia, in Scorpio, and coinciding with lunar perigee. It's not at all unusual for natural disaster to coincide with these lunar cycles but for the effect to be experienced thousands of miles from where the eclipse is visible.

That said, I am sure that the people of Australasia, and New Zealand in particular, will sleep easier after the next Full Moon (November 28th) when this eclipse season is over - hopefully without direct incident.

'Mini-earthquakes' of the political, economic and social variety are likely within the next month also - and with great consequences.

Since my last letter, Saturn has made its way into Scorpio and we have had the first Sun-Saturn conjunction in this sign for three decades. As forecast in the last letter, this coincided with a decided down-turn in the markets (last week).

This is likely to be a continuing theme even if the Frankenstorm does not inflict major damage. The Moon is at apogee on Thursday 1st Novembe r - coinciding with several new planet cycle phases. This could be but the first of several negative days in November. Leaving aside the eclipse for the moment I anticipate more bad news from the banking system (Friday 16th).

Mercury stations on the day of the US election and from that date is retrograde. This immediately signals a confused outcome with the high probability of legal challenge. Though one side will surely declare victory, for months that 'win' may not be comfortable. It could be argued that this election marks the end of an era. Future elections will surely be calculated very differently.

Even if there is a clear winner, it's probable that this presidency will be damaged in many ways - particularly by financial information that comes to light early in 2013.

I've read carefully the opinions of many esteemed colleagues on the subject of the coming election. Where there is unanimity is in the probable confused outcome. It's not too difficult to argue a case for either candidate. My 'pet' system is to look for who has the worst chart: I look for strong Saturn influences as this is the planet of mega responsibility. From this position I would view a Jupiter (good) aspect as being a 'lucky escape' from the poisoned chalice of office. That system would lose Obama the election. And yet, I can equally see him retaining office and it's that view that wins - just. I'd say that there's not long to wait before we know, but am of the opinion that the results will be contested fiercely.

Since June 2012, there's been a monthly Moon-Jupiter occultation.  We're coming to the end of this sequence (last one in February 2013) as Jupiter is passing closest to Earth.

Every planet makes sounds. Jupiter's radio waves are presently increasing in volume - but there are also those occultations. Jupiter is the 'planet of truth'. It's associated with the law, higher education, philosophy, religion and morality. It's entirely possible that since June and continuing, strong attempts have been made to hide or mask (financial) truths - a feat that might not be as easy to manage from March next year.

Whatever the new administration in the US, dealing with the mountain of debt must at some point be faced. As Pluto makes its steady way toward the second decanate of Capricorn, attention must surely be drawn to government bonds. And yes, the planets do indicate the probability of the bond bubble bursting 2013-2014.

Markets are likely to experience reversals on 6th and 27th (the two Mercury stations). The solar eclipse date too (13th and also affecting 14th) could be dates of high volatility - particularly with regard to commodities. The dates which concern me rather more however are from Friday 16th through 21st which I view as being a negative period for equities.

I'm sorry to say that the last Full Moon hit our family charts spectacularly.   I thought we had got off lightly, but six days after the lunation - and on my birthday -  four of us were affected by serious illness (all unrelated!). Thankfully we are all now on the mend and hope to be back up to speed before the eclipse.  Obviously this has upset my schedule and I am now behind with client work - though I hope to put that right soon.

Recuperation has given plenty of opportunity to prepare my webinar lecture on Harmonics for the Breaking Down the Borders web-conference. You can find details of this at: http://www.astrologyconference.org/

I have also managed a short rehearsal for the ISAR web conference in January where I will be covering financial trends in 2013. You can find details for this at: http://www.isarastrology.com/

I am also really looking forward to my 10 days in Florida in January when I will be speaking in St Petersburg and in Fort Lauderdale. Full details of these events in the next letter.

Last but not least, to take advantage of an excellent discount, do book for the NCGR conference in Philadelphia next August. You will find full details of this at www.ncgr2013.com

For now, wishing you all a safe and Happy Full Moon,

All good wishes
